(-54 kg) and Navbakhor Khamidova (-65 kg) lost their quarterfinal bouts by
close decisions.
Earlier, Sitora Turdibekova (-60 kg)
defeated Vietnam’s Ha Thi Linh with a 5:0 victory. Samandar Olimov, meanwhile,
lost to Thailand’s Kangpi Bohunthod by a narrow 2:3 decision.
In the following quarterfinals, three
Uzbek boxers advanced to the semifinals and secured medals, while two others
were eliminated.
Nigina Uktamova lost to Thailand’s
Natnicha Chongprongklang by a 3:2 decision. Despite Uktamova’s active
performance, the Thai boxer was awarded the victory.
Fazliddin Erkinboev (-80 kg), the 2025
world champion in Liverpool, advanced to the semifinals after his bout against
Sri Lanka’s Yazmin Mohammed was stopped in the first round.
Two-time world champion and Paris 2024
Olympic champion Abdumalik Khalokov (-60 kg) also reached the semifinals after
defeating the Philippines’ Junmilardo Ogayre 5:0.
Uzbekistan’s super-heavyweight boxer
Jakhongir Zokirov defeated Tajikistan’s Muhammad Abroriddinov 5:0.
On September 28, Feruza Kazakova (-51 kg)
defeated North Korea’s An Kum Byol 5:0 and advanced to the semifinals, securing
at least a bronze medal.
Shavkatjon Boltaev (-70 kg) also reached
the semifinals after defeating China’s Li Guofeng 5:0.
The boxing competition at the Asian Games
will continue with more quarterfinal and semifinal bouts. The semifinals are
scheduled for September 29 and 30, with the boxing finals taking place on
October 2.
