JSC
"Passenger Transportation" (Kazakhstan) will launch the
"Women-Only Carriage" service on the Almaty–Tashkent route beginning
October 1, according to a report by the 24kz news agency.
According to
the company, this decision was made due to the high demand and growing passenger
volume on this international route between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
It is noted
that the "Women-Only Carriage" service is also highly sought after on
Kazakhstan’s domestic rail routes. Since its inception, more than 946,000
passengers have utilized this service.
The
Almaty–Tashkent train operates daily. The train departs from Almaty Station at
19:05 and arrives in Tashkent at 12:53. From Tashkent, it departs at 14:41 and
arrives in Almaty at 08:51.
With the
launch of this new carriage, the number of rail routes featuring the
"Women-Only Carriage" service will reach 14, now including the
Almaty–Tashkent international route.
Boys under
the age of 7 are permitted to travel in the "Women-Only Carriage,"
provided they are accompanied by an adult. Tickets for these carriages are sold
exclusively to women, and passengers are served solely by female conductors.
When booking
a ticket, the "ЖН" designation indicates that the seat belongs to a "Women-Only
Carriage."
Tickets go
on sale 45 days earlier to the train's departure.
