According to the press service of Uzbekistan Airports, the first flight MU6037 arrived at Tashkent International Airport on March 30 at 18:40 local time. The plane, carrying 265 passengers, was traditionally greeted with a water arch, and the crew was greeted with flowers and a festive ceremony. The first passengers departing from Tashkent to Shanghai were also officially registered.

The opening of the new route directly connects China's largest metropolis, Shanghai, with the capital of Uzbekistan, which opens up additional opportunities for the development of tourism, business ties and trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

According to the schedule, flights will be operated four times a week - on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays on Airbus A330-200 wide-body aircraft.

The journey time will be about 8 hours.

It should be recalled that this is the airline's second route in the Uzbek direction. In July last year, the carrier launched Xi'an - Tashkent - Xi'an flights, which quickly became popular among passengers.

It is expected that the launch of a direct flight between Tashkent and Shanghai will give an additional impetus to tourist exchange, business contacts and strengthening transport connectivity between Uzbekistan and China.
