In recent years, systematic measures have been implemented in the country to develop the Uzbek language and strengthen its status as the state language. It was noted that the prestige of the Uzbek language in the international arena is growing.

The law introduces corresponding amendments to the Law "On the introduction of the Latin-based Uzbek alphabet," establishing that the Latin-based Uzbek alphabet will consist of 28 letters and 1 apostrophe (turning sign), replacing the previous 26 letters and 3 letter combinations.

Additionally, to protect the rights and interests of citizens and organizations during the transition to the revised alphabet, the legislation ensures that documents, national currency, and securities officially issued based on the current alphabet prior to the law's entry into force will remain valid without hindrance. Furthermore, state bodies and organizations are permitted to use existing symbolic emblems, signs, and indicators until they fall into disrepair or until the established expiration date.

According to the senators, the adoption of this law serves to improve the Latin-based Uzbek alphabet and spelling rules, expand opportunities for using the state language, and advance the digitalization processes of the Uzbek language.

At the conclusion of the discussion, the senators approved the law.
