Medicine is the
most popular major among foreign students, covering 16,476 foreign students, or
nearly 67 percent of the total foreign student contingent.
The highest number
of foreign students are enrolled at the Tashkent Medical Academy with 4,155,
the Samarkand State Medical University with 4,153, the "TIIAME"
National Research University with 2,886, the Bukhara State Medical Institute with
2,178, and the National University of Uzbekistan with 1,917.
The top 10
institutions by number also include the Fergana Public Health Medical
Institute, the Andijan State Medical Institute, the Urgench State Medical
Institute, the Termez branch of the Tashkent Medical Academy, and the Tashkent
State University of Economics.
