During the
conversation with S. Gafarova, the dynamic development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani
relations based on a trusting dialogue and the political will of the presidents
of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan was noted.
Special
emphasis is placed on interparliamentary cooperation. It was emphasized that
cooperation between the parliaments of the two countries has reached a
qualitatively new level. The results of the First Uzbek-Azerbaijani
Interparliamentary Forum, held in Khiva in 2025, were highlighted, and mutual
willingness to continue joint parliamentary initiatives was expressed.
During the
meeting, the large-scale reforms carried out by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in
all areas, in particular, to ensure gender equality and increase the activity
of women in society, were highlighted. Uzbekistan's efforts to strengthen not
only the country's development, but also regional cooperation, develop close
ties with neighboring countries and promote integration processes in the Asian
space were highly appreciated. It was noted that Uzbekistan is emerging as a
strategically important state and is recognized as a leading country, which is
an example for the region in various directions.
During the
meeting with Inna Svyatenko, the high dynamics of the Uzbek-Russian strategic
partnership and allied relations were emphasized. Special attention is paid to
interparliamentary cooperation, including between the Senate of the Oliy Majlis
and the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly. The parties also stressed
the importance of cooperation within the framework of the Interparliamentary
Assembly of the CIS Member States.
