not just a filming location, but the cradle of national cinema, which has been
reflecting the history, fate, and the innermost aspirations and experiences of
our people on screen for almost a century. Our common task today is to turn
Uzbekfilm into a national brand and the main hub of Uzbekistan’s modern film
industry.
To achieve
this, it is necessary to change the industry’s management system. From now on,
the state will not be a customer interfering in the creative process, but a
strategic partner creating conditions for development and financial support.”
The main driving force of the industry is expected to be private film studios,
independent producers, and authors.
The entire
chain from film production to the audience — financing, distribution,
screening, participation in festivals, and export — will be modernized in
accordance with global standards. It is planned to strengthen the system for
preserving, restoring, and digitizing the national heritage, as well as to
expand opportunities for training a new generation of specialists and for
international exchange of experience.
The most
important thing is that a truly professional environment and a culture of self‑regulation must be formed in the field, where the opinion, experience
and authority of every director and other creators of film products are valued
appropriately.
At the end
