During the
meeting, the parties discussed Uzbekistan's current cooperation with UNODC,
issues of countering drug trafficking, as well as further joint steps to combat
modern transnational threats.
Special
attention was paid to the continuation of the initiatives put forward at the
Samarkand International Forum on Countering Drug Threats, which was held in
April 2026.
"Thank
you to Monica Juma for supporting our side event dedicated to the protection of
women, children and youth. Today, it was held by Uzbekistan on the sidelines of
the 35th session of the UN Commission on Crime Prevention.
We are
ready to further develop our partnership with UNODC in the areas of security,
justice and sustainable development," Saida Mirziyoyeva emphasized.
