The World Rowing Championships are taking place in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Yesterday, the Uzbekistan national team won its historic medal in the competition.

In the lightweight double sculls event (LM2x), the duo of Shakhzod Nurmatov and Sobir Safaraliev became gold medalists. This will go down in history as the first gold medal won by Uzbek rowers at the senior world championships.

In the competition, the silver medal went to the athletes of Germany, and the bronze medal to the athletes of the USA.
