The foreign
trade turnover of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the member states of the
Eurasian Economic Union in January-April 2026 increased by 24.1% and amounted
to $7 billion.
Of these,
exports amounted to $2.2 billion, imports – $4.8 billion.
The share
of the EAEU countries in the total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan was
26.7%.
The
indicators of Uzbekistan's foreign trade in the EAEU countries in January-April
2026 amounted to:
The foreign
trade turnover with Russia increased by 19.4% and amounted to $4.5 billion.
(64% of Uzbekistan's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries), of which:

The foreign
trade turnover with Kazakhstan increased by 29.7% and amounted to $1.8 billion.
(26%), of which:

The foreign
trade turnover with Belarus increased by 32.1% and amounted to $340 million
(5%), of which:
exports –
$66 million
imports –
$275 million
The foreign
trade turnover with Kyrgyzstan increased by 56.2% and amounted to $351 million
(5%), of which:
exports –
$254 million
imports –
$97 million
In December
2020, Uzbekistan received observer status in the Eurasian Economic Union. It
should be noted that the EAEU countries are among the main trade and economic
partners of Uzbekistan. In this regard, the observer status in the EAEU will
allow Uzbekistan to expand economic cooperation with them, taking into account
the rules of the EAEU common market.
In 2025,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $20.2
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of
Uzbekistan was 24.8%.
In 2024,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $17.5
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of
Uzbekistan was 26.5%.
In 2023,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $15.9
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of
Uzbekistan was 25.4%.
In 2022,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $15.7
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of Uzbekistan
was 31.4%.
In 2021,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $12.8
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of
Uzbekistan was 30.4%.
In 2020,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $9.83
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of
Uzbekistan was 27.1%.
In 2019,
Uzbekistan's trade turnover with the Eurasian Economic Union amounted to $11.2
billion. The share of the EAEU countries in the total trade turnover of
Uzbekistan was 26.5%.
In 2019,
Uzbekistan exported goods (excluding gold) worth $9.42 billion, of which $2.83
billion. it was delivered to the EAEU.
Traditionally,
Uzbekistan exports textile, automotive, and electrical industry products to the
EAEU, as well as food, primarily fruit and vegetable products. From the EAEU,
Uzbekistan receives metal products, petroleum products, wood, machinery and
equipment, chemical industry products, food, in particular cereals, vegetable
oils, etc.
With
further integration with the EAEU, Uzbekistan will receive more favorable
conditions for entering foreign markets, in particular when trading with
Vietnam, Iran, Serbia and Singapore, which have concluded preferential trade
agreements with the EAEU.
As
previously reported, the CEIR was tasked with conducting a study and providing
a preliminary assessment of the economic consequences of Uzbekistan's possible
participation in the EAEU.
A study
assessing the impact of Uzbekistan's accession to the EAEU was presented at 14
universities in the country. The results of the study were published on the
website of the journal "Economic Review", where infographics and
analytical articles on the results of this study are posted.
In
particular, CEIR experts spoke about how joining the EAEU will affect
agriculture, the transport sector, the automotive industry, the textile,
footwear, pharmaceutical, electrical engineering industries, business
conditions, and more.
