As reported, an operation was conducted on August 4 through the cooperation of the Anti-Smuggling Department of the "Tashkent-Aero" Customs Administration and the border customs post staff of the "Tashkent International Airport."

Two passengers flying from Bangkok attempted to pass through customs control via the "green" corridor. When their luggage was inspected, two identical wine bottles and two plastic containers were identified.

As a result of the expertise, the substance inside the containers was determined to be a total of 6.8 kilograms of mephedrone.

It is noted that since the beginning of the year, customs authorities, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, have put a stop to the illegal cross-border smuggling and underground circulation within the country of nearly 1 ton 800 kilograms of narcotic substances across 471 detected cases.

A criminal case has been initiated by the customs authorities regarding this incident.
