At the
meeting of the EDB Council, chaired by Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Oljas
Bektenov and with the participation of the heads of the Ministries of Finance
and Economy of the participating countries, the annual report for last year and
the EDB Development Strategy for 2027-2031 were approved.
The bank's
key strategic document sets out the priorities put forward by Uzbekistan. Among
them are water and energy security, expansion of transport corridors and
industrial cooperation. All these directions are fully consistent with the
national strategy "Uzbekistan-2030".
On the
sidelines of the summit, the head of the Uzbek delegation held talks with
Nikolai Podguzov, Chairman of the EDB Board. The parties discussed in detail
the formed portfolio of 36 joint projects totaling about $ 2.8 billion.
Investments
will be directed to the chemical, textile, light and processing industries, as
well as digital infrastructure, medicine and the tourism industry.
In
addition, Tashkent and the EDB discussed the prospects of holding the next
annual meeting of the bank in 2027 in the capital of Uzbekistan and the
nomination of a representative of our country for the post of Chairman of the
EDB Council.
