The event
is considered one of the most reputable international platforms in the energy
sector and brings together representatives of government agencies, leading
energy companies and international financial institutions.
The Baku
Energy Forum, the 31st International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and the
14th International Clean Energy Exhibition Caspian Power are taking place within
the framework of the week.
The
official opening ceremony was attended by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev,
who in his speech paid special attention to energy security, the development of
traditional and renewable energy, the expansion of regional cooperation and
support for investment projects.
During the
visit to the exhibition, the head of Azerbaijan also got acquainted with the
activities of the national stand of Uzbekistan.
On the
sidelines of the forum, the Minister of Energy of Uzbekistan holds a number of
bilateral meetings with leaders of the energy sector of various countries and
international organizations.
In
particular, negotiations were held with Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural
Resources Alparslan Bayraktar, Azerbaijani Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov,
as well as Stephanie Gil, Global Practice Manager for Energy and Extractive
Industries at the World Bank.
The parties
discussed the current state of cooperation in the energy sector, the progress
of joint projects and prospects for further expansion of mutually beneficial
partnership.
