The event was attended by the co-chairs of the Council: The Head of the Presidential Administration of Uzbekistan, Saida Mirziyoyeva, and the Special Envoy of the President of the United States for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gore.
The Council is designed to provide a solid institutional framework for the implementation of joint business initiatives. Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed, consolidating the main areas of cooperation.
The creation of the Council became possible due to the high level of trust between the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States. As noted by the Co-Chairman of the Council, Ambassador Sergio Gore, over the past year, the United States has demonstrated the seriousness of its intentions to strengthen strategic partnership in Central Asia.
