"Footprints in the sand": an exhibition dedicated to the Aral Sea opened in Samarkand

    On April 28, the exhibition "Footprints in the Sand" dedicated to the Aral Sea opened in the "Art Residence" of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road".

    For information: at the initiative of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change, in the second decade of April, artists from Latvia, Georgia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, South Korea and the United Kingdom, as well as local artists from Karakalpakstan visited Muynak and reflected in their paintings what they saw in the Aral Sea region.

    The exhibition features about 30 paintings by artists in various genres. Also in the courtyard of the Art Residence you can see a picture of a shark and a living world that once lived in the Aral Sea, painted by South Korean artist Kweon Jeongchang.

    The exhibition will last until July.
