This initiative is aimed at reducing harmful emissions from motor vehicles
into the atmosphere, creating an ecologically stable environment, and widely
promoting the culture of using public and eco-friendly transport.
The "Car-Free Day" campaign has been regularly held on the 10th
and 25th days of every month. This was established by the President's decree
aimed at implementing the "Clean Air" nationwide project.
According to the National Committee for Ecology, since the launch of the
campaigns, the use of more than 1,730 official and personal motor vehicles by
employees of the committee and regional main departments has been restricted.
As a result, the volume of harmful emissions released into the atmosphere has
been reduced by an average of 17,370 kilograms. Traffic congestion in cities
has also decreased.
Notably, within the framework of the "Car-Free Day" and
"Car-Free Week" campaigns, the use of motor vehicles by state civil
servants causes liability.
The National Committee for Ecology urged state and non-state organizations
as well as the population to actively participate in the campaign and make
greater use of eco-friendly modes of transport such as electric vehicles,
bicycles, and public transit.
