Adham Ikramov discussed long-term plans with the Minister of Youth and Sports of Turkey

    Currently, the V Islamic Solidarity Games are in full swing in Konya. In order to support domestic athletes, the Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Adham Ikramov is also in Turkey. The agenda of the working visit includes the issues of holding meetings with foreign responsible sports officials and discussing issues of cooperation.

    In particular, on August 9, at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Konya, Adham Ikramov met with Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoglu.

    During the visit, Adham Ikramov was accompanied by NOC Secretary General Oybek Kasimov. At the meeting, issues of strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the field of sports, establishing comprehensive communication in sports such as football, judo, boxing, weightlifting were discussed. In this regard, Adham Ikramov expressed gratitude to Mehmet Kasapoglu and the organizers of the V Islamic Solidarity Games for the conditions created for athletes and events held at a high level.

    The Minister of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan told his Turkish counterpart about prestigious international competitions organized in Uzbekistan, including the upcoming World Judo Championship this year, the World Boxing Championship in 2023, the 46th World Chess Olympiad, where the right to hold it in 2026 was recently won, and invited the Turkish the sports delegation to take an active part in these events.

    During the meeting, Adham Ikramov was informed about the victory of Uzbek youth at the 44th World Chess Olympiad, and delighted with this news, Turkish Minister of Youth and Sports Mehmet Kasapoglu congratulated the people of Uzbekistan and the winners of the Chess Olympiad on their historic victory and wished our compatriots great success in the upcoming competitions.
