The leaders paid tribute to the memory of Saparmurat Niyazov in the Mausoleum of the First President of Turkmenistan. Surahs from the Holy Quran were recited.

The Presidents took part in the Iftar in memory of the father of the Leader of Turkmenistan – Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov. The memorial dinner was also attended by the muftis of the two countries, elders and religious figures.

The President of Uzbekistan, on behalf of Uzbekistan people and his own behalf, expressed his deep condolences on the passing of Myalikguly Berdimuhamedov. He noted the exemplary life, fruitful activity and good deeds of the deceased.

“Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan people have supported each other since ancient times, live in friendship and harmony. Today’s memorial event is another practical embodiment of this centuries-old friendship and fraternal ties”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The elders recited dua, asking the Almighty for peace and prosperity, further strengthening of brotherhood and friendship between the peoples of the two countries.

Thereupon, the working visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Turkmenistan has ended. President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov has seen off President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at Ashgabat International Airport.
