The publication emphasizes that the Center marks a new era in education and the preservation of the country's historical legacy, describing it as one of the most ambitious cultural projects of New Uzbekistan. Highlighting Tashkent's unique position, the authors call the capital a "space for the dialogue of eras."
A central focus is placed on the repatriation of national cultural heritage. As President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has noted, a nation's true strength lies in its memory and cultural roots. Consequently, the project involves bringing unique artifacts back to the motherland and enriching museum collections with authentic national heritage.
The Center is presented not merely as a museum complex, but as a large-scale educational and cultural "mega-project" dedicated to understanding the role of Islamic heritage in world history and integrating it into the future. The concept was first proposed by President Mirziyoyev in 2017 to create a new cultural and educational "code" for Central Asia and beyond.
The architecture is equally symbolic, featuring a 65-meter dome and four grand portals representing national unity. At its heart lies the Hall of the Holy Quran, housing the 7th-century Othman Mus’haf, inscribed in UNESCO’s "Memory of the World" register.
The exhibition concept blends archaeology, art, and technology through digital projections, sound, and interactive solutions. The educational scope is immense, featuring:
- A library for 200,000 books;
- A school of calligraphy and restoration laboratories;
- A "1001 Inventions" museum-laboratory for children and youth.
UNESCO Director-General Khaled el-Enany praised the project, stating: "I wish for this luminous Center to become a beacon for the whole world. It is a true witness to cultural diversity, tolerance, openness, and Uzbekistan’s role in human progress—a real crossroads of civilizations!"
