This was reported by the press service of the Customs Committee of Uzbekistan.
When checking the truck with an empty trailer, the service dog gave a signal, after which customs officers began an in-depth customs inspection of the car, which was driven by a 33-year-old resident of the Termez district. As a result, 98 bundles of hashish and opium were found in the lower part of the trailer.
In order to mislead the X-ray inspection equipment at the customs post, the packages were packed in four layers using polyethylene, foil and adhesive tape, the report says.
79 packages contained hashish (total weight with packaging 42 kg 335 g), 19 — opium (10 kg 260 g) — only 52 kg 595 g. According to calculations, 340 thousand individual doses could be formed from this volume.
According to the Customs Committee, since the beginning of the year, employees of the department, together with other law enforcement agencies, have seized over 1.9 tons of drugs.
