The main purpose of the resolution is to increase the reading level of the population (the number of books read by one person) to an average of 10 books per year from 2026 to 2030.
According to the resolution, a Foundation for the Development of Reading Culture will be established under the Agency for Youth Affairs, and the composition of its board of Trustees has been approved.
It is determined that the Fund's funds will be used to finance the following activities:
allocation of grants and publication of works by young writers through a competition, support of projects in the field of children's literature;
a monthly payment in the amount of 50 times the basic estimated value (BRV) for up to 1 year in order to identify talented authors through a competition and create conditions for their creativity;
When translating the best foreign literature into Uzbek and national literature into foreign languages, 50 percent of the cost of preparation and publication, as well as 80 percent of the cost of copyright, will be reimbursed.;
to pay quarterly remuneration to the members of the Board of Trustees in the amount of up to 50 BRV.
