Active youth were awarded state awards

On the eve of Youth Day, according to the decree and resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a group of active youth making a worthy contribution to the development of Uzbekistan was awarded the medals “Kelajak Bunyodkori” and the state prize “Mard O’g’lon”.

The ceremony to present these awards was held at Kuksaroy Residence on June 28. At the beginning of his speech, the Head of state congratulated the youth on Youth Day and expressed his best wishes to them.

“Getting acquainted with our youth’s achievements, goals, and plans gives me great energy and inspiration. I am glad we have such great opportunities for building a New Uzbekistan”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Today, in every sphere of life – in public administration, economics, science and education, sports and culture – special attention is paid to youth. Youth parliaments operate under the chambers of the Oliy Majlis. Each institution of our country has an adviser on youth affairs.

The state and society are strong thanks to physically and spiritually developed youth with modern knowledge and technologies. Therefore, the education system is developing fundamentally. Presidential schools, creative and specialized schools, and higher education institutions serve the education of qualified personnel. In IT parks, creative and technology parks, and cultural and sports centers, young people do what they love and develop their abilities.

Young people who effectively use these conditions achieve great success in science, sports, culture, art, and other areas, glorifying New Uzbekistan worldwide.

In the last academic year alone, 55 students won 8 gold, 15 silver, and 32 bronze medals at prestigious international Olympiads in mathematics, chemistry, biology, physics, and computer science.

At prestigious international competitions in culture and art, 383 of our young participants won the main prizes, about 1400 – first places.

Over the past two years, Uzbekistan athletes have won more than 900 gold, over 550 silver, and 731 bronze medals at international competitions. Recently, at the Asian Football Cup in Qatar, the Uzbekistan team won an Olympic ticket for the first time in Uzbekistan’s history.

“With your achievements, you are creating new history. I am confident that, together with the great achievements of our people, these results will become part of the history of the New Uzbekistan and the Third Renaissance”, the President emphasized.

The state youth policy of Uzbekistan is receiving international recognition. For example, last year, according to the Youth Development Index, Uzbekistan was recognized as one of the fastest-growing countries in youth policy. The international community has approved more than 60 initiatives to support young people, involve them in state and public administration, and resolve important socio-economic issues.

The Global Youth Festival is taking place in the beautiful city of Samarkand these days, which also demonstrates international recognition.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev presented state awards to the youth.

“Your achievements are the beginning of a long journey. The state can create conditions, and someone can help. But your future depends only on you. I support all our young people on this path, and I wish you success on the way to your dream”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

The awardees expressed gratitude to the Head of state for the high trust and attention to the opportunities created for youth. They emphasized that they will achieve great success in their studies and work, justifying the trust of our people.

Representatives of state and public organizations, intellectuals, and parents attended the event.
