President of France congratulates the Leader and people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence

    On August 30, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev had a telephone conversation with President of the French Republic Emmanuel Macron.

    The current issues of the bilateral agenda and regional cooperation were discussed.

    The President of France warmly congratulated President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the multinational people of Uzbekistan on the 30th anniversary of the country’s independence, sincerely wishing peace, well-being, great success and prosperity.

    The Leaders considered the practical aspects of Uzbekistan – French relations. The implementation of the roadmaps following the agreements of the summit in Paris in October 2018 was discussed.

    Currently, with the participation of leading French companies, priority projects are being implemented in the mining complex, in the sphere of energy, industry, transport and communications, modernization of communal services, the development of tourism clusters and other areas. A long-term program of financial and technical cooperation was adopted with the French Development Agency.

    A meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission and a business forum with the participation of a French business mission were held in Tashkent in May this year to promote joint initiatives.

    An agreement was reached to hold several joint cultural events at a high level, including an exhibition of the richest cultural and historical heritage of Uzbekistan in the Louvre Museum in the first half of next year.

    The Presidents exchanged views on the situation in the region in the context of the escalation of the military-political situation in Afghanistan. The importance of establishing interaction and intensifying exchanges on the issues of ensuring regional security and stability was emphasized.

    The telephone conversation between the leaders of Uzbekistan and France took place in a traditionally constructive, businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
