In accordance with a resolution of the Head of State, the country last year widely celebrated the 1155th anniversary of the birth of Abu Mansur Maturidi, the founder of the aqidah school in the country. In this regard, reconstruction and landscaping works were launched at the Imam Maturidi complex located within the Chokardiza cemetery in the city of Samarkand.

On a 10.2-hectare site, a mosque for 250 worshippers, a main entrance portal, a research center, a library, a museum, and a parking area are being constructed.

During construction works at the Chokardiza cemetery, the burial site of the great Islamic jurist Burhaniddin Marginani was discovered, and a mausoleum for him is currently being built here.

In memory of the outstanding scholars, surahs from the Quran were recited.
