Neighborly Internet: illegal provider detained in Samarkand region

A raid was conducted in the Akdarya district of the Samarkand region with the participation of the territorial directorate of the Uzkomnazorat inspection, the Center for Electromagnetic Compatibility and law enforcement agencies.

During the inspection, it was established that a citizen of S.F.S. had organized an illegal telecommunications network at his home. With the help of radio relay equipment, he provided Internet services to nine users, both on a paid and free basis.

It was established that the activity was carried out without a license, permits and contracts.

Protocols have been drawn up with respect to S.F.S. and nine citizens. Measures have been taken in accordance with articles 152, 1552 and 165 of the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Administrative Responsibility.

Uzkomnazorat inspection warns: failure to comply with legislation in the creation and operation of telecommunication networks entails administrative or criminal liability.
