Iran has commissioned an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) carrier combat ship converted from a commercial vessel.
According to Iranian state television, a UAV carrier warship joined the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) combat fleet at a ceremony held at the port of Bandar Abbas in the south of the country, attended by Chief of the General Staff Mohammad Bakeri and other senior officials.
The ship, named Shahid Bakiri, has a 180-meter runway for UAVs and carries a large number of unmanned aerial vehicles and cruise missiles, as well as helicopters.
Footage broadcast by state television shows that there are at least 5 helicopters and 8 unmanned aerial vehicles on the runway of the warship, converted from a commercial vessel, and the Kahir-313 UAVs are taking off from the runway. aa.com.tr.
