IT Park strengthens cooperation with India

    From December 21 to December 23, 2021, a delegation of the Ministry for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by the First Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications Oleg Pekos, visited the Republic of India. IT Park, represented by representatives of the organization, Deputy Director for International Relations Bohodir Ayupov and Deputy Director for Regional Development Abdulahad Kuchkarov, also took part in this visit.

    During the visit, the delegation held meetings with a number of Indian IT companies: “NASSCOM”, “Impact Infotech Pvt Ltd”, “STPI”, “Tech2Globe”, “Integral”, “Skytech Medical & Surgical Devices”, “Clay Telecom”, “Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC)”, “INDIASOFT”, “Ardhas Technologies India Ltd”, “Technosys IT Management BPO”, “Reliance IT Companies”, “ZOHO Corporation”, “Routern.com”, “Binaryflux”, “Minda Industries Ltd”, as well as with such universities as: “Management Development Institute”, “LNCT”, “Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management LBSIM”, “BGS, Manipal University”, “Acharya”, “Vinayaka Mission University”, and “Amity”.

    During negotiations with Shivendra Singh, Vice President and Head of the International Trade Department of “NASSCOM”, they discussed the possibilities of cooperation within the framework of the national educational platform for the development of digital skills - “FutureSkills Prime India”.

    In addition, the parties discussed the opening of Indian IT grocery companies, together with IT Park residents and much more.

    Also, one of the key meetings was a meeting with the director of the “STPI” company Devesh Tyagi.

    The parties agreed to organize a business tour to Uzbekistan for “STPI” member companies on an ongoing basis, as well as mutual internships for IT Park and IT Parks of India employees in order to establish cooperation and exchange experience. Among other things, an agreement was reached on joint holding of hackathons, as well as on cooperation in the development of incubation centers for startups and attracting BPO companies from India to Uzbekistan in order to develop the IT outsourcing industry.

    The delegation of Uzbekistan did not stop at meetings with IT companies. The delegation also met with universities in India and one of these universities was the “LNCT” University.

    The university has expressed interest in opening a medical and IT university, as well as a hospital in Uzbekistan.

    In addition, the delegation held a meeting with the chairman of the Amity University Mr. Atul Chauhan, during which the parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the field of IT education, as well as exchange of experience on involving more young people in the IT sector. An agreement was also reached to jointly hold IT events and hackathons at the “Amity” University in Tashkent together with IT Park.

    One of the closing meetings was a meeting with the Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technologies of the Republic of India Mr. Ajay Prakash Sawhney.

    The meeting discussed issues of cooperation in the development of IT education, telecommunications and e-government.

    Let us recall that Uzbekistan and India are in close partnership relations, especially in terms of the development of the IT sector.
