The South Korean experience of public transport reform is being studied

    Within the framework of the joint project "Tashkent - acceleration of attracting investments in low-carbon vehicles", implemented jointly by the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Program, a training trip was organized for employees of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Korea in order to study advanced foreign experience in the field of green city transport systems.

    During the visit, consultative meetings were held with relevant specialists of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Institute of Transport and the Seoul City Administration.

    The large-scale reforms implemented in the field of public transport in Seoul, in particular, the introduction of bus lanes (BRT), the integrated electronic payment system (T-Money), the "Pool" system in the distribution of income among carriers, the public transport infrastructure for vulnerable segments of the population got acquainted with the conditions created.

    In addition, information was received on the experience of state support in the purchase of electric buses for "green" areas and a public transport park free of transport, which is being implemented in Korean cities.

    During the meetings, an agreement was reached to establish cooperation on the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of public transport in Tashkent, including the introduction of green transport corridors, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
