By the end of 2023, five asteroids will approach the Earth, astronomers said. The "arrival" of the comet is also expected.

The asteroid called 139622 (2001 QQ142) reaches from 0.3 to 1.5 km in diameter. It is comparable in size to the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and is larger than 97% of all known asteroids. The object will fly past the Earth on December 6 at a distance of 5.5 million km. Its speed will be 23,900 km/h.

The asteroid called 341843 (2008 EV5) reaches 0.4 km in diameter, about the size of the US Capitol building. It will approach the Earth on December 20 at a distance of 6.3 million km. The asteroid will move at a speed of 19,200 km/h, Mir24 reports.

The third asteroid 2019 CZ2 is very small by cosmic standards – from 21 to 98 meters. Its approach to Earth is expected on November 25 at a distance of 1.1 million km. The fourth space object, 2020 YO3, is estimated to have a size of 31 to 70 meters - about the size of Big Ben. It makes a complete revolution around the Sun in 1100 days and will approach the Earth on December 23 at a distance of 1.3 million km.

The fifth asteroid 2013 VX4 measuring from 44 to 99 meters will approach our planet on December 4. It will fly past the Earth at a distance of 1.2 million km at a speed of 23,600 km/h.

Astronomers will also be able to observe comet 144P until the end of 2023/Kushida. It was opened in 1994. The comet will reach its closest point to Earth on December 12. A month later, on January 25, 2024, it will come closest to the Sun. It is currently located in the constellation of Aries, but is moving towards Earth at a speed of about 105,000 km/h.
