A large chemical technology park is being built in Karmana

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited a chemical technology park under construction in Karmana district.

Navoi region has a developed chemical industry due to its rich mineral resources, developed infrastructure, and high human resources potential. The region has created a favorable investment environment and conditions for entrepreneurs to create promising enterprises.

Based on this, Chinese entrepreneurs are creating a chemical technology park, Zarafshon Industrial Technology, for which 130 hectares of land have been allocated. It is planned to implement 18 projects here with a total value of more than $1 billion.

Two projects have already been launched to produce 40 thousand tons of oleum and 170,000 tons of sulfuric acid. It is noteworthy that a power unit with a combined-cycle plant capacity of 1.4 megawatts was built to efficiently use the heat generated during the production of sulfuric acid, allowing the enterprise to fully provide itself with electricity.

The Head of state was informed about new projects that will be implemented in the technology park. In particular, construction has begun on plants to produce 1 million tons of sulfuric acid ($150 million), 50 thousand tons of caustic soda ($120 million), and 100 thousand tons of phthalocyanine ($135 million).

It is planned to establish effective cooperative production in the technology park, which will localize products in the construction industry for $75 million, in the light industry – for $107 million, and in medicine – for $38 million. Currently, the level of localization in the technology park is 31 percent, and thanks to the phased implementation of projects, this figure will double.

The President emphasized the need to ensure a production balance at enterprises, conclude off-take contracts and guaranteed sales of products.

The technology park already employs 300 people, and after the implementation of all projects, more than 2,000 jobs will be created. It is planned to master the production of such products as anthraquinone, caustic soda, copper chloride, dimethyl sulfate, sodium sulfide, and resorcinol. The technology park’s annual export potential will increase to $30 million by 2026.

The construction of the necessary communication networks is carried out at the expense of foreign investors.

A presentation of projects that will be implemented based on the Navoiazot JSC in 2024-2030 was also held as part of the visit. There are 22 projects worth $5 billion, creating 3 thousand new jobs. It is planned to produce chemical products worth more than $2 billion annually, the bulk of which will be exported.

The President noted the importance of complying with environmental requirements and equipping enterprises with low carbon dioxide emissions equipment.

Four projects are planned to be completed by next year. The Head of state also met with investors regarding these projects.
