Housing for 25 thousand residents to be built in Margilan

Today, Margilan in Fergana region is one of the most densely populated cities, and its population will grow in the near future.

To create decent conditions for young families and future generations, the President proposed building a new area in the city. At a meeting held today with representatives of the older generation and the public of Margilan, the President asked their opinion regarding the construction of the neighborhood.

“In many places in our country, we are building new neighborhoods and towns. I know about the living conditions of Margilan residents and their need for housing. Taking into account these requirements and wishes, the dream of many families, we are thinking about building modern houses”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

According to the project, the neighborhood will occupy 110 hectares. In particular, multi-storey buildings with 5,000 apartments designed for 25,000 residents will be built. It is also planned to locate the International Research Center of Burkhonuddin Margilani, the Maqom Art Theater, a Law Institute, four hotels, an alley of poets and artists, and shopping complexes. Particular attention will be paid to green areas – there will be a park.

Representatives of the older generation, speaking on behalf of the public, approved the plans, noting that people have been waiting for such a project for a long time, blessed the good cause, and wished for success.

“Today, we saw large industrial enterprises in Fergana. New power plants were launched. For what? So that our people have conditions, so that enterprises operate stably. Now, I would like you to join the reforms and help mahallas turn into territories where there is no place for poverty and unemployment”, the President said.

The Head of state instructed responsible persons on the careful design of the neighborhood based on foreign experience and the construction of houses and infrastructure with an eye to the future.
