This was announced by Sergio Gor, the U.S. special representative for South
and Central Asia, reported by the in.usembassy.gov website.
During the visit, Rubio will participate in a C5+1 ministerial meeting
involving the foreign ministers of five Central Asian states—Kazakhstan,
Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
The negotiations are planned to discuss expanding regional economic ties,
strengthening energy security, and developing cooperation on common regional
issues.
Additionally, the U.S. Secretary of State will meet with the leadership of
Uzbekistan and representatives of Central Asian states to discuss increasing
trade volume, encouraging private sector investment, and supporting economic
modernization in the region.
According to Sergio Gor, the meetings in Samarkand are aimed at developing
the U.S.–Central Asia strategic partnership and strengthening bilateral
diplomatic and commercial cooperation.
