Transport Minister meets with Turkish Ambassador to Uzbekistan

    On February 6, Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar met at the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    At the beginning of the meeting, I. Makhkamov expressed his deep condolences to the Ambassador in connection with the natural disaster in Turkey, as a result of which thousands of people were killed and injured.

    At the meeting, the sides discussed issues related to the increase in freight and passenger traffic, the development of trade and economic ties by further strengthening cooperation between our countries in the field of transport.

    Ambassador Olgan Bekar highly appreciated the level of cooperation between our countries in the field of transport. The parties emphasized that to date, 56 regular flights a week are carried out between the cities of Uzbekistan and Turkey, and the e-Permit system of electronic exchange of permit forms in the field of cargo transportation by road has been launched.

    During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on increasing the volume of freight and passenger transportation by all modes of transport, creating more favorable conditions for domestic and foreign tourists to visit various regions of our countries.

    In particular, the parties agreed to continue joint work on the organization of the next meeting between the aviation authorities of the two countries, the development of new alternative transport corridors.

    In conclusion, the parties identified the tasks that will be implemented in the future within the framework of the considered areas of cooperation.
