Two refrigerated trucks with 20 tons of ice cream were sent from the city of Shenyang, Liaoning Province, China to the capital of Uzbekistan within the framework of the TIR system.

The trucks will cross the Chinese border through the Pokitu -Bakhty border crossing, transit through the territory of Kazakhstan and arrive in Tashkent in 8-10 days, Xinhua reports.

"This direct route from Shenyang to Tashkent ensures uninterrupted delivery without transshipment of cargo. In the future, we will have similar operations every month," said the general director of the logistics company Liaoning Antu Refrigerated Transportation Co., Ltd. Han Qingfeng.

For reference: TIR is an international system that simplifies the transportation of goods between countries. As part of it, the cargo is sealed at the starting point of the route and checked only upon arrival at the destination, and at intermediate border crossings, checkpoint staff only verify the data of the TIR book and the customs seal for the vehicle. This reduces travel time and reduces possible risks associated with administrative customs control procedures and cargo damage. China joined the TIR Convention in July 2016.
