A new application has been released for Android devices that allows you to measure blood pressure without the need for special equipment, using only a smartphone.

This program was developed by researchers from the University of Pittsburgh. It uses an accelerometer, camera and touch sensors to assess pulse pressure. This is especially useful for people who have limited access to medical services.

The application analyzes changes in hydrostatic pressure depending on the position of the hand and the pressure of the finger on the smartphone screen.

The results obtained using the program are compared with the data obtained by traditional pressure measurement methods. The deviation is approximately 8 mmHg.

The creators of the program believe that it has great potential for distribution among low-income segments of the population.

According to biomedical engineer Ramakrishna Mukkamala, this application will help to detect hypertension in people who cannot afford regular medical examinations.
