Licenses for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games will be awarded at the Asian Games in Bahrain

    The Olympic Council of Asia has announced the final dates, programs and age categories of the III Asian Youth Games to be held in Bahrain this year.

    As planned, the competition will be held on October 22-31.

    Since the Games are licensed for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, changes have been made to the competition program and age categories.

    A total of 26 sports will be represented in the competition. Of these, 13 are included in the Dakar 2026 program. The age limits for athletes in these disciplines are 14-17 years old.

    Sports where Dakar-2026 licenses will be awarded: athletics, boxing, futsal, table tennis, freestyle wrestling (on the beach), badminton, cycling, judo, taekwondo, 3x3 basketball, show jumping, swimming and triathlon.

    The following 13 sports are not licensed and athletes aged 15-18 can participate in them: camel racing, golf, kabaddi, tek ball, weightlifting, horse marathon, handball, mixed martial arts, volleyball, esports, jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, freestyle wrestling (indoor).
