According to a statement released by the Office of the Chief Minister of the state, 18 deaths were reported in Nalanda District, and several more people died in other districts.

Tejashvi Yadav, the leader of one of the local political parties Rashtriya Janata Dal, said in a post on the social network X that more than 50 people died in the region on Thursday due to the rampant disaster.

"I am deeply saddened by the tragic deaths of over 50 people in various incidents related to storm, rain, lightning, falling trees and collapsing walls in Bihar," he wrote.
