Dry and warm weather awaits Uzbek citizens for the weekend

A cold invasion took place on the territory of Uzbekistan yesterday. Rains with a transition to snow have passed through most of the territory of Uzbekistan. But, as forecasters promised, the cold snap was not very strong. The air temperature last night dropped to 4-7 degrees below zero, in the north to 10-12 degrees, in Ustyurt to 14-16 degrees below zero.

By this morning, the snow has stopped in most parts of the territory. Light snow persists only in some areas of the south-east of the republic. The air temperature this afternoon will be within 2oC of frost - 3oC of heat.

According to the Uzhydromet service, dry weather is expected throughout Uzbekistan over the weekend. Light snow is possible only in some mountainous regions of the republic.

The frosty weather will continue during the night hours. The temperature at night will be within 2-7OC frost. During the day, the air will warm up to 2-5oC heat, in the south 7-9oC heat.

There will be ice on the roads in some places.

Heavy snow fell in the mountainous regions of the republic on February 9-10. The height of the snow cover has increased by 60-70 cm in two days and reaches 150 cm, which is almost twice the norm. Freshly fallen snow is in an unstable state, so the risk of avalanches is very high. Be very careful when going to the mountains.
