    Navoi and Zeytinburnu became twin cities

    As part of the Khakimov internship program, a delegation from Uzbekistan is visiting Turkey to share experiences and learn about best practices in urban planning and management.

    The delegation is headed by Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the Yuksalish movement, Bobur Bekmurodov, deputy of the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan.

    Earlier, within the framework of the program, meetings were held in the cities of Konya and Selcuklu, which made it possible to outline plans for long-term partnership and strengthening friendly ties between Turkey and Uzbekistan.

    One of the key events of the visit was the meeting of Khokim of Navoi Dilmurod Ergashev with Mayor of Zeytinburnu Omer Arisoy. A protocol on cooperation between Navoi (Uzbekistan) and Zeytinburnu (Istanbul, Turkey) in the status of twin cities was signed.

    Reference: Due to its convenient location, Zeytinburnu is an important economic and trade hub. There are many factories, markets and shopping malls here. In addition to textile production, Zeytinburnu plays a significant role in logistics and transport.

    The bilateral document covers a wide range of areas, including economic cooperation, the development of education, healthcare, youth policy and sports, support for the tourism industry and the preservation of cultural heritage, environmental initiatives, energy, information technology and transport.

    The parties agreed to exchange specialists, provide support to business communities and investors. An important aspect of cooperation is also the support of socially vulnerable groups of the population, including children, people with disabilities and senior citizens.

    During the visit, the delegation from Uzbekistan also got acquainted with the projects of modern urban planning in Zeytinburnu. Special attention is paid to the improvement of the urban environment, the introduction of innovative solutions in the field of ecology and infrastructure.

    On February 10, during the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Turkey, a protocol on cooperation between Samarkand and Konya in the status of twin cities was signed.
