A guard of honor was lined up on the square in front of the residence. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev warmly welcomed the distinguished guest and invited him to the podium.
The national anthems of Uzbekistan and Germany were played. The heads of state inspected the honor guard and introduced members of their official delegations.
Following the ceremony and a joint photo session, high-level talks began.
