During the meeting, the current state and prospects of Uzbekistan's relations with the OSCE were discussed, in particular, issues of cooperation in the field of security and sustainable development.
It was noted that today cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OSCE is developing in such topical areas as countering transnational threats, improving the processes of democratization of society, increasing the efficiency and transparency of public administration, developing the digital economy, promoting the principles of green economy and environmental protection, ensuring the protection of human rights, promoting the principles of gender equality.
The meeting also paid attention to inter-parliamentary relations, which are an important area of cooperation. It was emphasized that in recent years, the interaction of the Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan with the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has significantly intensified and reached a qualitatively new level.
As a new step in cooperation with the OSCE, T.Narbayeva also put forward an initiative to develop a joint project to provide expert and technical assistance in improving institutional and human resources capacity to enhance the effectiveness, transparency and public relations of the Oliy Majlis.
- Schmid fully supported this practical proposal and expressed the OSCE's readiness for effective cooperation in this direction.
During the meeting, proposals were also put forward for the implementation of an important area of the agenda for all countries, namely joint projects on ecology and the environment, in particular, on combating climate change and developing a green economy.
At the meeting, which was held in a sincere and constructive spirit, an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation on all issues discussed.
