The main tasks of the Ministry of Sports Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan are defined

    The Government Decree (No. 465 dated 08/22/2022) approved the Regulations on the Ministry of Sports Development.

    In accordance with the Regulations, the Ministry of Sports Development is subordinate to the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and ensures the implementation of a unified state policy in the field of sports.

    One of the main tasks of the Ministry is to prepare promising athletes for successful participation in the Olympic and Paralympic, Asian and Parasiatic Games, World Championships, Asian and Parasiatic championships, other international competitions and tournaments.

    The Ministry also promotes the development of the activities of the National Olympic Committee of Uzbekistan, the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan, sports federations and associations, and other non-governmental non-profit organizations in the field of physical culture and sports.

    The Ministry includes the following universities:

    Uzbek State University of Physical Culture and Sports and its branches in Ferghana and Nukus;

    branch of the Federal state budgetary educational institution of higher Education "Russian State University of Physical Culture, Sports, Youth and Tourism" in the city of Samarkand.

    The Regulation defines the rights and responsibilities of the Ministry, its status, and the procedure for financing.
