President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has held a conversation with medical workers and teachers working in Tashkent.

“How to achieve qualitative medical care and school education in Tashkent? I am concerned about this issue. The purpose of this meeting is to find out how things are at the grassroots level, to work out the right solutions”, the President said.

2020 became a year of hard tests for all spheres. Both doctors and teachers had to work in new conditions.

“We united before difficulties. They made us look for a way out. Therefore, we have achieved results”, the Head of the state noted.

At the same time, the pandemic also made us to focus on the areas where there are gaps, need for reforms and development. The meetings on education and healthcare that took place on 30 October and 6 November were directed to these issues. As a result of the discussions and study of proposals made at these meetings, presidential decrees and resolutions were adopted on development of education and science, introduction of fundamentally new mechanisms in the activities of primary healthcare institutions, and widespread introduction of a healthy lifestyle.

At today's meeting, views were exchanged on the importance of reforms in education and medicine, and measures to implement them at the basic level.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that citizens are dissatisfied with the healthcare system.

“Talk to people coming out of the hospital, they will tell you everything. Many people are dissatisfied with the quality of medical services”, the President said.

The Head of the state shared his views on promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population, introducing best practices in early detection and treatment of diseases, and improving conditions in medical institutions.

It was noted that the work of healthcare and education systems as parts of a single whole is an important factor in people’s health and harmonious development of the younger generation.

“Medicine and education are a bridge of justice between the state and people. If we all work with high dedication, honestly, fix these systems, then justice will be ensured. People will be happy with our work. Tashkent should set an example in this regard”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
