On January 14, the President of Uzbekistan participated in the opening ceremonies of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week Summit and the Sheikh Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony.

The event was also attended by the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the Prime Minister of Malaysia Anwar Ibrahim, the President of Nigeria Bola Tinubu, the President of Rwanda Paul Kagame, the President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan, the President of Uganda Yoweri Museveni, as well as other heads of state and government officials from various countries.

After the UAE President welcomed the distinguished guests, a joint photo session took place.

Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week is a global platform established in 2008 by the UAE government and Masdar company to address global issues related to sustainable development. The forum aims to promote the acceleration of sustainable development worldwide and economic, social, and environmental progress, ensure food and water security, and advance energy conservation and decarbonization.

The agenda of this year’s summit includes issues related to sustainable development, the promotion of innovations and new technologies in the green economy, and strengthening regional cooperation in energy and food security.

As part of the forum, an award ceremony is held to recognize achievements in sustainable development, named after the late founding father of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed Al Nahyan. This year, the Global High Schools category winner became the Presidential School in Tashkent.

The UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, presented the award.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the school representatives and congratulated them on their victry.
