The President of Uzbekistan notes the importance of further enhancing collaboration with the UAE

    The issues of further enhancing practical interaction and promoting investment cooperation projects were discussed at a meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the delegation of the United Arab Emirates, consisting of the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber and the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei.

    Sultan Al Jaber conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan sincere greetings and best wishes from the UAE President, Sheikh Mohamed Al Nahyan, the Prime Minister of the country, the Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed Al Maktoum, and Vice President Sheikh Mansour Al Nahyan.

    At the meeting, the current highest level of multifaceted relations between Uzbekistan and the UAE was noted with particular satisfaction. The volume of mutual trade, the number of joint ventures, and the frequency of flights are growing. The portfolio of ongoing and prospective projects, with the participation of leading UAE companies in Uzbekistan, reaches $20 billion.

    The driving force of bilateral cooperation is green energy. Today, a wind farm with a capacity of 500 megawatts was commissioned in Navoi region. This project was implemented by Masdar.

    In general, with the participation of this company, in recent years, electricity generation facilities with a total capacity of 1.5 gigawatts have been commissioned in Uzbekistan.

    Particular attention was paid to the prompt preparation and implementation of large investment projects in the energy, oil and gas, chemical industries, mining, water supply, waste recycling, and other areas.

    The importance of continuing productive contacts at all levels and careful preparation for upcoming high-level events was noted.
