The high-ranking guest conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko to the President of Uzbekistan.

Current issues related to expanding a multifaceted partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus were discussed in the context of implementing agreements reached at the highest level.

Satisfaction was expressed with the high level of cooperation achieved, particularly in the trade and economic sphere. By the end of last year, trade turnover increased by 25 percent and reached almost $1 billion. Cooperation among leading enterprises in priority sectors is expanding.

The importance of shaping a new economic agenda through the promotion of joint projects in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, pharmaceuticals, the textile and food industries, the agricultural sector, and other areas was emphasized.

The need to intensify interregional contacts and cultural and humanitarian exchange was also noted.
