At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Azerbaijan on October 6 for a working visit.
The Head of State will take part in the main events of the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States, to be held in the city of Qabala.
The meeting’s agenda, held under the theme “Regional Peace and Security”, includes issues related to the deepening of multilateral cooperation in priority areas.
Following the summit, several documents will be adopted to expand practical cooperation among the member countries of the Organization.
On 25 November, an extraordinary session of the Samarkand Regional Council of People’s Deputies was held. President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in the session.

On October 24, a solemn signing ceremony of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Union took place in Brussels in the presence of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of the European Council António Costa, and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
As part of his official visit to Belgium, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a roundtable discussion with executives of leading European companies and banks.
