President of Uzbekistan arrives in Kyrgyzstan

    President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in Cholpon-Ata at the invitation of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov.

    Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers – Head of the Presidential Administration of the Kyrgyz Republic Akylbek Zhaparov and other officials met the President of Uzbekistan at the airport.

    As previously reported, on July 21, Cholpon-Ata will host the Fourth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of Central Asian States.

    Issues of further enhancing practical cooperation, including in trade, transport and logistics, industrial cooperation, innovation, food security, tourism, cultural-humanitarian exchange and other areas will be considered during the summit. The parties will also exchange views on ensuring stability and sustainable development in the region.

    It is planned to sign several documents.

    It should be emphasized that the initiative to hold a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia was put forward by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev in 2017 during the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.

    The first summit of the leaders of the region was held in March 2018 in Nur-Sultan, the second – in November 2019 in Tashkent, the third meeting – in August last year in Avaza National Tourist Zone in Turkmenistan.
