President of Uzbekistan meets with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary

On May 20, as part of his official visit to Budapest, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with László Kövér, Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary.

The further development of strategic partnership, including interparliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary, was discussed.

The growing intensity of mutual visits and meetings between parliamentary delegations of the two countries was noted with satisfaction. In April this year, János Latorcai, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, participated in the 150th anniversary session of the Inter-Parliamentary Union held in Tashkent. Before the end of the year, visits to Uzbekistan are scheduled by the Deputy Speaker and the Chair of the Economics Committee of the Hungarian Parliament, as well as a visit by the Uzbekistan parliamentary delegation to Budapest.

Particular attention was given to the importance of supporting the implementation of signed agreements, enhancing the work of friendship groups, and establishing contacts between relevant parliamentary committees, especially for the exchange of legislative experience in regional development, social protection, taxation, and digitalization.
