The current issues of further strengthening Uzbekistan – China friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership were considered.

Minister Wang Yi conveyed to the President of Uzbekistan the sincere greetings and best wishes of the President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. The initiative of Uzbekistan to develop the connectivity of Central and South Asia was highly appreciated and supported. Confidence was expressed in the successful holding of the upcoming conference in Tashkent.

At the meeting, the main attention was paid to the implementation of agreements at the highest level, including the promotion of joint programs and projects in trade, economic, investment, financial, technical, cultural, humanitarian and other areas of multifaceted cooperation. The importance of continuing close cooperation in the fight against the pandemic was noted.

Views were exchanged on the international agenda, including the situation in Afghanistan.
